What is Ketamine Assisted-Psychotherapy?
Ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic FDA-approved since 1970, is used in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) to treat mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. At Amethyst Integration, ketamine is administered in lozenge form, working to relax the brain's default mode network and enhance neural plasticity, aiding in breaking old patterns. Combining ketamine with psychotherapy enhances therapeutic benefits, requiring three to six KAP sessions alongside preparation and integration sessions for optimal results.
